What type of licence is needed to hire a boat?

We have:
Boats where a PNB licence or equivalent in the country of residence is required to steer boats.
Boats which can be hired without a licence.
An explanation will be given, prior to setting sail, of how the boat operates.

A skipper can be provided for any of our boats at an extra cost of €70 per ½ day - €140 per full day

What are the boarding and landing times?

For full day hires, from 9:00 to 18:30 hours.
For ½ day hires: mornings from 09:00 to 13:30 hours.
For ½ day hires: afternoons from 14:00 to 18:30 hours.

If you require a different timetable, just ask us and we will attempt to meet your needs, where possible, depending on previous bookings.

Are there any extras when hiring?

Fuel is not included in any of the 4 boats.
Initial advice and instruction in relation to the boat and the area is included.
The cleaning of the boat at the end of the trip is included.

Is the boat I am hiring insured?

All boats hired out by Estartit Low Cost Boats are insured.
A deposit of €300 - €500 must be paid at the time of hiring the boat and this will be refunded at the end of the trip if the boat is returned in the same condition as it was in when it was handed over. Faults or damage caused by incorrect use or negligence on the part of the person hiring the boat will not be covered by the company insurance policy.

What do I have to do to confirm my reservation?

To confirm your boat hire you must contact Estartit Low Cost Boats and they will tell you how to confirm your booking.

Will I receive information on the routes and places in the area?

The client can choose to visit the costa del Montgrí, Islas Medas, Cabo de Begur, Cabo de Creus.
A map of the area will be provided and information will be given on the activities which can be carried out as well as those which are not allowed.

What happens if I cancel?

If the client cancels the deposit paid will not be refunded. Possible solutions will be considered in the event of prior notice of cancellations being given (5 days before).
Should the company cancel due to adverse weather conditions (incessant rain and high waves) the reservation date will be changed or the deposit refunded. Each case will be treated individually in order to reach a solution.
